Andy isn't as well known as he should be... Almost every guitarist knows Satriani and Vai, but only few know of Timmons, who is one of today's greatest rock guitarists. Andy has a great sense for melody and he also got the chops. Just listen to 'Groove or Die' and you'll know what I mean.
The first time I listened to this album, I was astounished by Andy's songwriting skills. Especially his ballads are full of emotion, which is the thing that distinguishes Andy from others. Andy has more feel in his playing than most of the guitar virtuosos. 'Cry For You' and 'A Night to Remember' are one of the best instrumental guitar songs I've ever heard. Andy should be considered as one of the 'guitar gods' from now on (he certainly deserves it). This album is best of, so it's no surprise it's so good. It consists of songs from his earlier studio albums: Ear X-tacy and Ear X-tacy 2. This album had a few new tracks as well (Super '70's, Pink Champagne Sparkle, Falling Down and Beautiful, Strange). Judging by these new songs and his guitarplaying skills (not to mention his composing skills), I'm sure his upcoming album will surprise us all (in a positive way).
