Gothenburg is known for its quality exports in the field of metal, and hence the latest newcomer All Ends should be an interestig acquintance. The band was formed back in 2003 yet their self-titled debut album hit the stores just recently. This group might have piqued your interest in case you've heard who are behind their music - no other than the In Flames guitarists Björn Gelotte, who just happens to be the brother of one of this group's singers, and Jesper Strömblad handled the creative work.

Interestingly enough this female-fronted group features two singers, but unfortunately this isn't used as the distinguishing strength it should be. All in all, the material on this record is pretty decent overall and nothing spectacular. The music is unsurprising and sadly resides more on the generic side of metal, where the hooks aren't strong enough to captivate the listener. Regardless this record has its moments and for a debut album All Ends is rather "safe" entry to the music scene. Hopefully on their further releases they'll unleash their creativity and will dare to be more adventurous.
