Finnish melodic rock group Morian is about to release their debut album in May, and as a teaser they've released a single called 'Away from the Sun'. I first got acquainted with this group in the late 2006 when I noticed a friend request on myspace from this group. Though they only had one song on their myspace at that time (Firewalkers), it was enough to impress me - hence I approved their request. Now over five months later the band's name emerges again, but this time in the form of a single sent by Dynamic Arts Records.

Music of Morian is an emotionate mix of melodic rock and metal. Regardless, Away from the Sun has only a hint of metal, whilst their earlier material was even more metal-tinted (namely the aforementioned song 'Firewalkers'). The production has been handled well with Hiili Hilesmaa (Sentenced, HIM) sitting behind the mixing console, while the finishing touches were left for Mika Jussila. All in all, this single sounds promising, and leaves the listener craving for more.
