Deep Purple returns with a new studio album "Rapture of the Deep". Being a legendary group, high hopes are placed upon this release. Fortunately RotD seems to be able to honour the old Purple classics, and manages to bear comparison with them. The material is of rather even quality, although few songs weren't quite as good as the rest... to name a few songs I especially enjoyed listening to, I have to mention "Rapture of the Deep", "Clearly Quite Absurd" and "Before Time Began". Being a fan of Steve Morse's playing, I'm glad to hear his guitar work on this album. Clearly time hasn't affected DP in any way. Their music is still both memorable and ravishing, and shouldn't leave any old Purple fan cold. Rapture of the Deep was produced and engineered at Chunky Style Studios, Los Angeles, CA by Michael Bradford. Mastering took place at Masterdisk Studios by Andy van Dette. Both Bradford and van Dette have handled their parts quite skilfully as the album sounds good. Visit Artist's Website - MAGE (December 7th, 2005) « back
