Time Machine is one of the well-known progressive metal bands, and they come from Italy. They've been a trend-setter for many Italian prog metal bands such as Icycore and Eldritch. You can't deny the fact that Time Machine has opened up doors for other Italian acts, afterall their success has highlighted Italian progressive metal scene. Since their formation in 1992, they have released 11 albums so far, this being their 11th.

Reviviscence (Liber Secundus) is the second part of the "Eymerich Trilogy". What's great about Time Machine is their compositional skills — they've been able to compose very diverse, atmospheric songs. There's everything from heavier metal to ballads. Only complaints about the songs regard guitar solos — a portion of guitar solos is trifling shredding.

This album features a new singer and guitarist. Their performances are convincing. Marco Sivo is without a doubt the best singer who has been in Time Machine so far. Production on this album is very good... except for a few minor details. Slight distortion occurred seldom (it's very unobtrusive).

Reviviscence (Liber Secundus) offers 52 minutes of pure progressive metal with some straightforward in-your-face riffs. Despite the more metal approach, they haven't lost their progressive foundation. Lyrics tell a tale of the evil walking among us (greed, war and corruption). All in all, this album is very good. A recommended buy for the fans of progressive metal.
