Four years have passed by since Gamma Ray released No World Order. Personally, I didn't find the album as good as their earlier releases and, therefore, I did not have high expectations when I started listening to their newest album, Majestic. However, I quickly found out that there is something enticing in this release as I wanted to hear it repeatedly.

In short, Gamma Ray has made again a very strong power metal album. There is a nice blend of faster, more melodic and slower, more heavier songs. Also, I liked the diversity of songs. Now that I have heard this album quite many times picking out favorites would be really hard. Therefore, I won't do that. All in all, this album should offer something for all power metal fans. However, if you know Gamma Ray already, there won't be much surprise (Kai isn't screaming so much nowadays which is a positive thing in my book).

Production-wise I was a bit disappointed. Like many Mayan releases the sound was a bit dull and not as dynamic as I would have liked. Nonetheless, every power metal fan should check out how Kai Hansen is still going strong.
