Twyster is a group, which I hadn't listened to prior to receiving a promotional copy of their second album "Xplode". The band's most distinctive features are the butch female vocals, which are a bit similar to those of Doro's. The music, on the other hand, is rather mediocre heavy metal that isn't innovative at all. In case one has listened to a lot of metal, I don't see anything that this release has to offer (other than being one of the few female-fronted metal bands). Although there are occasionally some good sections on this album, they aren't enough to make this release worthwhile.

Also the production of this release is rather moderate. There's nothing gravely wrong about it, but then again there's nothing exceptional about it either. Unless you're a fan of Twyster, I'd recommend listening to other bands of this genre. Nevertheless, if you tolerate only female-fronted metal bands, then Twyster might be worth checking out...
