I've got to admit that lately I've been rather impressed with the quality of releases coming from Bulgaria (especially in the field of progressive music). Music Station is a young band, whose debut album "Shaping" saw its release already in 2003. The music MS plays is progressive rock bordering mostly on the mellow compositions, although there are also few heavier songs included on this album as well.

The material on Shaping is quite steady in terms of quality, although few songs do stand out from the rest. For example, I especially enjoyed listening to "After Twilight", "...Past", "Painting Souls" and "Night Dreams". Although I hate pigeon-holing music, I'd say that listeners of 80's hard rock and progressive rock may find Music Station worth checking out.

This album was recorded and mixed at Ahat studio (Sofia, Bulgaria) by Tony Grapes. At times some background distortion occurs, but fortunately not too often. For the most part, the sounds are quite good. Overall, I'm rather impressed with Music Station's debut... thus I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more of their music. Be sure to give "Shaping" a try at Mindawn.com, where you can listen to the album three times before buying.
