The self-titled debut album of WithoutEnding is quite an interesting acquaintance. The band was already formed in Autumn 2001, and has released a one demo before recording their debut. Unlike most newcomers, WithoutEnding has crafted somewhat unique musical style of their own. Their music sounds like a mixture of Marillion, Fates Warning and Dream Theater along with touches of few other acts. WithoutEnding's music is mainly dark, evocative progressive metal with odd time signatures, original melodies and strong vocal lines. Actually the most characteristic quality of WithoutEnding is their vocalist, Nicholas Georgakopoulos, whose unique voice complements their atmospheric compositions well. Especially, his use of vibrato is captivating - it's rather similar to that of John Arch's (ex-Fates Warning), although their voices aren't alike. All the productional matters of WithoutEnding were handled by Endel Rivers at Palmstudios, Australia. The sounds are atmospheric and to the point in almost every way. In case you're a sucker for original sounding progressive rock/metal, WithoutEnding should appease your desire for a while. Visit Artist's Website - MAGE (May 19th, 2005) « back Share
