For a progressive rock fan this new release by Tiles is a safe choice. However, "Window Dressing" is not a typical progressive rock album, although the title track lasts over 17 minutes. The songs are not as 'progressive' as you may expect if you listen to bands like Spock's Beard, Transatlantic and Dream Theater regularly. Alternative rock could be the best term to describe the music, since the album is quite easy to listen (or then I have listened too much bands like Magellan).

Of course, the album is quite versatile as you may expect. There are typical progressive rock songs in the beginning of the album, but then there are songs that are more adult oriented rock than progressive rock, such as "All She Knows", "Tear-Water Tea" and "Paintings". Also, three instrumental songs, namely "Stop Gap", beautiful "Unicornicopia" and "A.02", which is a relaxed acoustical guitar song with 'Pat Metheny' style, are included. In addition, "Slippers in the Snow" is a song you typically find from a Porcupine Tree album. The last track, "Spindrift" is then again a progressive rock song akin to music by Spock's beard and Transatlantic.

All in all, this is a great alternative rock album. Thus, I can recommend this to all people who like quality music.
