Arjen Lucassen has once again gathered together some of today's leading musicians to perform on his new record 'The Human Equation'. Fans were anxiously waiting for this album, because the line-up rose their expectations... Well, I must admit I was thrilled to insert the new Ayreon CD in my player too. Songs are stylistically the same as older Ayreon songs. As with all Ayreon albums, all of the songs aren't so good... Some of the songs are mediocre, but there are also really good songs. Of vocal performances, Devon Graves' and James LaBrie's impressed me the most. Also the other singers did a good job. By the way, listening to Ayreon albums is a good way to discover new artists. The length is over 1 hour and 42 minutes, so there's enough material to listen. However, this album isn't perfect. Although the songs cover quite big gamut of genres, I still think there was something missing. Regardless, I cant direct my finger at it. 'The Human Equation' is still a great album and I recommend it to fans of Progressive Rock/Metal. Visit Artist's Website - MAGE (19.06.2004) « back
