'Gorespattered Suicide' is the fourth album of Spanish death metal band Avulsed, whose brutal melodic death metal occasionally manages to even surprise the listener. For example, being a Spanish death metal band they couldn't resist the temptation to include some Spanish acoustic guitar sections to 'Divine Wine'. On a side note, this album definitely has one of the most sickening and atrocious album covers I've ever seen.

The music on 'Gorespattered Suicide' is occasionally diverse and successful, but for the most part it's quite an average death metal album. Every now and then there are some really good riffs and melodic sections, but otherwise the songs are a bit tiring to listen in the long run. Their cover of Motörhead classic 'Ace of Spades' is just a death metal variation of the original and doesn't offer anything extraordinary.

Mixing and mastering of 'Gorespattered Suicide' was handled by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, ex-Morbid Angel). Rutan has handled his part rather well as the sounds are mostly good. The drums could have been mixed a bit better and some other slight adjustments could have been made to the mix, but other than that the sounds are to the point.
