Arcana XXII is a metal band from Namibia, so I had my doubts regarding the sound quality before I inserted this CD to my player. Unfortunately my doubts turned out to be true as the sound quality on this album is worse than on most demo recordings. Nonetheless, the quality of vocal recordings suffice. For the most part, the songs on this album are sung in English, but there are also some French lyrics audible (for example on "Unholy Tide").

Although I haven't heard of this band before, it seems that they've already been around for quite a while. "Your Fatal Embrace" is actually the fourth album of Arcana XXII, but it doesn't convince me to check out their previous offerings (mainly due to its mediocrity)...

Gladly there's a bit more innovativeness on Arcana XXII's music than the average metal band has. Regardless, it isn't enough to make up for the frailties of this release. However, there are some rather fortuitous moments on this album regarding the music and vocal melodies. Therefore, it might be a good idea to at least give "Your Fatal Embrace" a listen just to know what Namibia has to offer to the metal scene.
