The voice of Saga, Michael Sadler, has released his second solo album "Clear". The realisation of this album has taken quite a lot of time, as the songs have been recorded between August '95 and June '04. The music is quite successful mix of pop and melodic progressive rock.

Clear is filled with ballads and other laid-back compositions. The songs are based on strong refrains that will bore inside your mind, and felicitous guitar and piano melodies. Especially songs like "Can't Let Go", which have refrains with choir accompanying Sadler's vocals, are wonderful to listen to.

Thomas Schmitt-Zijnen has produced this album professionally... The recordings are clear (as is the title of this album ;), and the mixing has been done quite well. However, few clips did occur and some synth sounds had some "screech quality" in them. Overall, the production is good though.

All in all, Michael Sadler's Clear is quite good album. If you like Michael Sadler's voice and Saga's ballads, this album is for you. Clear isn't a progressive album... If anything, Clear is a melodic rock album with strong vocal lines. By the way, Clear is also available at Mindawn (you can listen to it 3 times for free... Check the news for more about Mindawn).
