Out of the blue a metal band called Sworn emerges... titled as "Visionary Control", their self-financed debut album is being promoted by the Danish metal agency Intromental - this actually isn't that surprising since two members of the band work at the aforementioned company (namely Jørgensen and Genach). Not to get sidetracked, the music Sworn plays is atmospheric metal with a strong foundation on rhythm and melodies. Their "signature" sound contains some traces of thrash metal and death metal, which seem to fit well into their style. The production on this album is fairly good... the sounds are quite assertive and full, and there aren't many bothersome impurities in the mix either. Nevertheless, some background distortion occurred occasionally (which is not desirable). In addition, the drums could have had more vigour. Overall, Sworn's Visionary Control shows promise... with a bit more polishing, they should be able to get signed... eventually. Visit Artist's Website - MAGE (July 25th, 2005) « back
